2025-2026 Camerata Chorus
The Camerata Chorus is the premier treble ensemble of Johns Creek High School under the direction of Michael Snyder. Comprised of advanced singers in grades 10–12, Camerata is recognized for its refined tone, musical discipline, and expressive artistry. The ensemble consistently earns Superior ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation and has been featured at state conferences and special events. Members are frequently selected for GHP, All-State Chorus, and All-State Reading Chorus, and achieve top placements in the Georgia Southern Choral Competition.
​

Beyond performance, Camerata singers serve as leaders within the Johns Creek Choral Program; mentoring younger musicians, organizing service projects, and representing the program across the school and community. Students are also active in theatre, athletics, and academic organizations, reflecting a spirit of collaboration and excellence in all pursuits. Through artistry, scholarship, and shared purpose, the Camerata Chorus seeks to uplift audiences and exemplify the power of hope through choral music.

​Michael Snyder

Director of Choruses

Michael Snyder is in his 22nd year of teaching and fourth year as Director of Choruses at Johns Creek High School.  Students under his direction have consistently earned superior ratings at Georgia Music Education Association LGPE and has had invited performances at both ACDA and GMEA conferences. His career also includes leadership of ensembles in Ohio, where his choirs earned numerous superior ratings at both the District and State levels and performed at the Ohio Statehouse on multiple occasions. Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Akron, Choral Music Education Certification from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the Georgia Music Education Association, serves as the District 5 GMEA Mixed Honors Chorus Coordinator, and has served as an accompanist for GMEA All-State Chorus.


​Heidi Chinnock

Heidi Chinnock is the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church in Johns Creek, GA, where she directs their Academy of Fine Arts and leads a music program that includes a Chancel Choir, handbell choir, and guitar group. She has served churches in Northern Virginia and North Georgia, and has accompanied many choral groups in both locations including ACDA and GMEA Conference performances. Heidi holds a BM in Church Music from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.

​Tim Anderson
Cello​

​Tim Anderson grew up and started his musical career in the Atlanta area. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Illinois and a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He has been the orchestra director at Autrey Mill Middle School in Fulton County since 2004.  Prior to this he taught in Gwinnett County where in 2003 he was selected as teacher of the year. His orchestras perform and compete regularly throughout the South. They have performed at GMEA and in 2018 placed third in the ASTA National Orchestra Festival.  In 2020 Mr. Anderson was recognized as teacher of the year by the Georgia American String Teachers Association. Mr. Anderson has served in various GMEA and ASTA district and state capacities, recently retiring after working at the Georgia ASTA Camp for over 20 years and serving as the state chapter treasurer. He performs regularly as a cellist throughout the Southeast as both a studio musician and live with his band “Jackson County Line”.

Sarah and Jarad Ball
Violin

Sarah Ball is in her 29th year of teaching orchestra and currently serves as an orchestra director at North Gwinnett Middle School in Sugar Hill, Georgia. The NGMS orchestra program enrolls nearly 600 students in grades 6–8 and has been invited to perform at the GMEA In-Service Conference, the Midwest Clinic, and Carnegie Hall.
​

Mrs. Ball holds degrees from Appalachian State University and Lesley University. She has been named NGMS Teacher of the Year, Gwinnett County Middle School Teacher of the Year, Georgia ASTA String Educator of the Year, and an Elizabeth A. H. Green Award recipient. She is an active clinician, adjudicator, and presenter at the state and national levels and serves on the author team for Habits of a Successful Young String Musician. She lives in Johns Creek, Georgia.


​Jerrod Ball is an active performer and clinician in the metro Atlanta area. He performs regularly with the North Georgia Chamber Symphony and First Redeemer Church Orchestra and has appeared as a guest musician with numerous community and professional ensembles.
​

Mr. Ball frequently coaches middle and high school orchestras and honor ensembles throughout Gwinnett and Fulton counties and serves as a violin coach with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. In addition to maintaining a private violin studio in Johns Creek, he performs regularly with chamber groups and at special events. Outside of music, he enjoys aviation simulation and kayaking. He is proud to be married to Sarah Ball.

Nicholas Emanuel Wheeler
Viola​

​Nicholas Emanuel Wheeler serves as the orchestra & choral instructor at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, Georgia. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Music Composition from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.

An active performer and composer, Nicholas plays viola with the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra and Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as violin and piano at Mount Pisgah Church where he attends weekly.
​

In addition to his musical pursuits, Nicholas is an accomplished distance runner and serves as the head middle school cross country coach at Mount Pisgah Christian School. Outside of teaching and performing, he enjoys JRPG video games, road trips across the Southeast, college football, and reading contemporary fiction.

Ty Cundy
Percussion​​

​Ty Cundy is currently in his first year as Assistant Director of Bands at Johns Creek High School and Autrey Mill Middle School, and is in his third year coordinating percussion within the cluster. In this position, he conducts wind band, coordinates rehearsals, and oversees all aspects of percussion instruction, including marching front ensemble, marching battery, concert percussion, and percussion ensemble.


Prior to working in Johns Creek, Ty studied at Georgia Southern University, from which he graduated summa cum laude in 2023 with a B.M. in Music Education and a minor in Music Technology. At GSU, he performed with the Southern Pride Marching Band, was principal percussionist of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble, and was the pianist of the Jazz Ensemble. In 2022, Ty was awarded with the prestigious Theodore Presser Undergraduate Music Scholarship. Mr. Cundy has studied percussion with Dr. Matthew Fallin and Brandon Kunka. He also performs regularly with the Atlanta Percussion Ensemble, and teaches private lessons. Ty is affiliated with Phi Eta Sigma, the Percussive Arts Society, the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education.
​

Ty currently resides in Duluth. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants with his girlfriend, Monica, cheering for the Green Bay Packers on Sundays, and collecting and playing vinyl records.

Carson Glenn
Percussion​​​

​Carson Glenn is a sophomore in the Johns Creek High School Marching and Concert Band. While she is dedicated to the band, she also participates in fine arts through her theatre program also at the school. Carson is excited for the opportunity to play for the Johns Creek Chorus as they move into their competitive season, and wishes Mr. Snyder and the chorus program the best of luck.

James Barket
Bass​​​​

James Barket is Orchestra Director at Webb Bridge Middle School in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Co-Director of the Fulton County Youth Orchestra. Under his direction, WBMS orchestras have been active participants in GMEA events and have performed multiple times at the GMEA In-Service Conference, as well as at the ASTA National Orchestra Competition.

​Dr. Barket holds a DMA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an MM from Yale University, and a BM from the University of Hartford. He was a Fulbright Fellow in Vienna, Austria, and holds K–12 music certification from Georgia State University. An active educator and clinician, he has served in numerous leadership roles within GMEA and on the faculties of Valdosta State University and Kennesaw State University.
