The Johns Creek High School Camerata is the premier treble chorus at Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. The chorus was formed in 2020 and has grown from 17 to 33 members under the direction of Michael Snyder. Participation in Camerata is by audition and is available to the most advanced treble chorus students in grades 10-12. The ensemble has consistently earned superior ratings at GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) in both performance and sight reading and has been invited to the Georgia Southern Invitational (2022 and 2024). Members of this ensemble regularly participate in District Honor Chorus, All State Chorus, All State Reading Chorus, the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP), athletic programs, and musical theatre/drama programs. The Johns Creek High School Chorus program enjoys a direct feeder from Autrey Mill Middle School Chorus under the direction of Vanessa Edwards.

Michael Snyder Director of Choruses
Michael Snyder is in his 21st year of teaching and third year as Director of Choruses at Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Georgia. Michael’s career has included school positions at the middle school, high school, and full-time and part-time Director of Music/Organist positions in Georgia and Ohio. Students under his direction have been invited to conferences, invitationals, consistently achieve superior ratings and grand champions at festivals, District and State level Ohio Music Education Adjudicated Events, performed at the Ohio Statehouse on multiple occasions, and achieved superior ratings in both stage performance and sight-reading at Georgia Music Education Association LGPE events. Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Akron, Music Education Certification from The Ohio State University, and a Master’s of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Michael has studied conducting and choral methods with Lisa Fredenburgh, James Jordan, Robert Sinclair, and Andre Thomas. Michael is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, American Guild of Organists, and the Georgia Music Education Association. Mr. Snyder serves as the District 5 GMEA Mixed Honors Chorus Coordinator, has accompanied for GMEA All-State, is the Assistant Director of Traditional Worship and Organist at Rome First United Methodist in Rome, Georgia, and maintains an active role in the Johns Creek High School musical theatre department.
Heidi Chinnock Collaborative Pianist
Heidi Chinnock is the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church in Johns Creek, GA, where she directs their Academy of Fine Arts and leads a music program that includes a Chancel Choir, handbell choir, and guitar group. She has served churches in Northern Virginia and North Georgia, and has accompanied many choral groups in both locations. Heidi holds a BM in Church Music from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.
